Strengthening Student Leadership, HIMA PGMI and HIMA HES FAI-UMI Hold Upgrading and Working Meetings for the 2026–2027 Period

FAI-UMI MAKASSAR, Student Association for the Teacher Education Study Program Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (HMJ PGMI) and the Economic Law Department Student Association Syariah (HMJ-HES) Faculty of Islamic Religion (FAI) UMI held Upgrading activities & PGMI & HES Student Association Meeting for the 2026–2027 Period, Friday (18/9/2026), located in the UMI FAI Hall, 2nd Floor.

This activity carries the theme "Strengthen Solidarity and Professionalism of the Management to Realize a HIMA PGMI that is Progressive and Collaborative"Meanwhile, for HIMAHES, activities brings the spirit of "Unifying Vision, Strengthening Synergy, Actualizing the Work Program to Realize Progressive and HIMAHES Integrate.”

Upgrading administrator to an important part in the process of strengthening the capacity of student organizations. Activities is directed at building a better understanding of the task, functions, responsibilities and management ethics, while strengthening coordination between administrators in carrying out work programs during one period management.

This activity was attended by the Dean Faculty of Islamic Religion UMI Dr. H. Akhmad Syahid, M.Pd, Deputy Dean III FAI UMI Dr. Surani, S.Ag., M.Ag, Head of the Sharia Economic Law Study Program (HES) Dr. H. Hasana Lawang, Lc., M.Ag, as well as the administrators of HIMA PGMI and HIMAHES. The presence of faculty and study program leaders provides support as well as strengthening the role of student organizations as part integral to the educational process and student leadership development.

In the context of life academically, student organizations are not only a forum for carrying out activities, but also a space for learning leadership, communication, cooperation, decision making, and solving various problems constructively. Therefore, strengthening the capacity of administrators is an important foundation for the creation of healthy, professional, productive and student organizations oriented towards developing the competencies of its members.

Through this upgrading activity, Management is expected to have the same vision and perception in running the organization. Solidarity between administrators is also expected stronger so that every work program can be implemented effectively collaborative, planned, and provides real benefits for students as well FAI UMI academic environment, said the Dean of FAI.

Dr. Rani as Deputy Dean III FAI-UMI and the person directly responsible for student affairs revealed that apart from internal strengthening, this activity also provides momentum to encourage HIMA PGMI and HIMAHES to be able to present responsive programs to developments over time. Creativity, innovation, digital literacy, ability communication, as well as the ability to build networks are an important part of competency of student organization administrators in an increasingly dynamic era.

The spirit of progressivity needs to be built through management that is not only active in running it organizational agenda, but also able to make the organization a laboratory student leadership. Every administrator is expected to be able to learn responsible, respecting differences, building healthy communication, and Prioritize the interests of the organization above personal and group interests.

Upgrading activities too It is hoped that it can strengthen the synergy between students, study programs, and faculty. With good communication and coordination, student organizations can become a strategic partner for the faculty in creating a good academic atmosphere dynamic as well as strengthening and supporting the achievement of the vision and mission of the Faculty and Study Program, Management, strengthening human resources and other funding sources, said the Head of the Study Program HES.

By holding activities Today, HIMA PGMI and HIMAHES FAI UMI are expected to be able to move forward with a vision more focused, more professional management, more solidarity getting stronger, as well as innovative and collaborative work programs. Upgrading not just a ceremonial activity, but a starting point for building a shared commitment that student organizations must be able to become a space for growth for the birth of a generation with integrity, competence, responsibility responsible, and ready to take a role in academic and community life.
