PUBLIC LECTURE 2026 FAI UMI Encourages Gen Z to Become a Generation that Impacts and Strengthens Social Virtue
The activity was held on Tuesday, September 29 2026, at the Al-Jibra Auditorium, Campus 2 UMI, attended by the FAI UMI academic community and students. The enthusiasm of the participants was visible from the full auditorium during the activity.
Through this theme, FAI UMI emphasized the importance of placing generation Z not just as technology users, but as a generation capable of utilizing technology to bring positive change to society. Digital capabilities need to go hand in hand with Islamic values, integrity and strong character.
Integrating Technology and Islamic Values
The development of digital technology presents various opportunities and challenges for the world of education. Ease of access to information, artificial intelligence, social media and various digital platforms have changed the way the younger generation learns, communicates and interacts.
In this context, FAI UMI students are encouraged to have good adaptability without losing their basic values. Educational transformation must remain oriented towards the formation of people who are knowledgeable, have morals and care about their social environment.
Islamic integration is an important foundation so that technological progress not only produces intellectual skills, but also produces morally responsible individuals. It is hoped that knowledge and technology can be a means of strengthening benefits, not just pursuing popularity or personal interests.
Gen Z as an Impact Generation
This public lecture also emphasized the importance of building social piety among the younger generation. Piety is not only realized through a personal relationship with Allah SWT, but also through concern for others, the environment, nation and society.
Students as part of generation Z have a strategic position to become agents of change. Creativity, the ability to use technology, the courage to convey ideas, and extensive social networks can be directed to present various innovations and social movements that provide real benefits.
Thus, being an "impact Gen Z" means being able to turn knowledge into action, technology into solutions, and Islamic values into behavior that brings benefit to society.
Building Character in an Era of Disruption
Apart from mastering science and technology, character development is also an important concern in this activity. The era of technological disruption requires the younger generation to have the ability to think critically, adaptively, collaboratively and creatively, while maintaining integrity.
FAI UMI, through academic activities such as the 2026 Public Lecture, continues to encourage students to be able to face changing times with strong competencies and solid character. Education is not only directed at producing graduates who are academically competent, but also individuals who have social awareness and are able to make positive contributions.
It is hoped that the 2026 Public Lecture activity will be a momentum for FAI UMI students to reflect on their role as a young generation of Muslims amidst technological developments. A superior generation is not only a generation that masters technology, but also a generation that is able to utilize knowledge, faith and technology to provide benefits for life.
