Towards Superior Accreditation, FAI UMI's Arabic Language Education Study Program Undergoes LAMDIK Field Assessment

MAKASSAR – The Arabic Language Education Study Program (S1) of the Faculty of Islamic Religion (FAI) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) officially underwent a Field Assessment process by the Independent Education Accreditation Institute (LAMDIK). This activity, which is crucial for academic quality, will take place over two days, namely Thursday to Friday, 30–31 July 2026, at the Hall of the Faculty of Islamic Religion, Floor 2, UMI Campus. The opening event for this assessment was attended directly by the UMI Chancellor who also officially opened the event. The presence of the highest leadership of this university confirms the rector's full commitment to continuous quality improvement within the UMI FAI environment. Also present to accompany the chancellor in the university leadership ranks were Deputy Chancellor (WR) 1 for Academic Affairs, WR 4 for Da'wah and Islamic Campuses, WR 5 for Cooperation and Promotion, and Chair of the UMI Quality Assurance Institute (LPM). From the faculty, this activity was supervised directly by the Dean of FAI UMI and the Deputy Deans. 

This assessment process also involves all elements of the academic community, starting from lecturers, educational staff (tendik), active students, stakeholders, to the accreditation taskforce team who have been preparing form documents long ago. This field assessment process was guided by two professional assessors delegated by LAMDIK, namely Prof. Dr. Moh. Ainin, M.Pd. from Malang State University as Assessor 1 and Prof. Dr. Umi Hanifah, M.Pd.I. from Sunan Ampel State Islamic University as Assessor 2. In his speech when opening the event, the Chancellor of UMI expressed his highest appreciation for the arrival of the assessment team. 

"We express our deepest gratitude to the LAMDIK assessor team who took the time to attend the UMI campus. The presence of assessors is very valuable for us in carrying out an objective portrait of the quality of academic governance. "Our commitment at the rectorate level is to fully supervise all study programs, especially FAI Arabic Language Education, in order to realize the vision of high quality education that is globally competitive," said the Chancellor of UMI.

 Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Moh. Ainin, M.Pd. as Assessor 1 gave his views regarding the essence of this visitation. He emphasized that the assessment process is not just a formality of assessing numbers. 

"This field assessment is a forum for objective confirmation and coordination to match what is written on the form documents with the reality in the field. We are not here to look for deficiencies, but together to strengthen the campus' internal quality assurance system so that it complies with national educational standards," explained Prof. Ainin. 

For two days, the assessor team will continue the agenda of physical verification, in-depth interviews with alumni and graduate users, as well as validation of other technical data. Through this field assessment, the group of study programs under the banner of FAI UMI carries a big mission and high optimism to achieve the title of "Excellent Accreditation".
